Newspaper Obituary - Sunday, December 7, 1997 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Carl R. Atkinson Retired Dairy Farmer - Carl R. Atkinson, 81, of 9685 Reshaw Bay Road, formerly of Pulaski, died Friday at Oswego Hospital. Mr. Atkinson resided in Pulaski for 62 years, moving to Mannsville in 1978. He owned and operated a dairy farm in Pulaski for more than 50 years and was a cattle dealer for more than 40 years. He also was a salesman for Hoffman Seed Co. for 50 years and a state inspector at Vernon Downs for 10 years. He was a 50-year member of Pulaski Grange 730, a member of Oswego County Farm Bureau and the Daysville Cemetery board and a trustee of Bethel Community Center, Port Ontario. Born August 21, 1916, in Daysville, son of John W. and Cassia Joyner Atkinson, he attended Pulaski Schools. He married Cynthia Wadsworth July 13, 1938. She died February 16, 1965. He married Betty Munson October 5, 1978. Surviving besides his wife are five sons, Nelson V., James W., Larry G. and Thomas D., all of Pulaski, and Donald A., Tarpon Springs, Florida; a stepson, John D. Munson, Lacona; a sister, Gladys Wadsworth, Pulaski; 19 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Douglas Ferry officiating. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery. Calling hours will be 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Tracey Ackerman Benefit Fund, in care of Lacona Fire Department, or the Future Farmers of American chapter at Belleville Henderson Central School, Belleville.
