Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, May 27, 1908 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Joseph N. Whitney was born in Vermont in November, 1823, and died Tuesday, May 26, 1908. He was a son of Hezekiah Whitney. When three years of age, Mr. Whitney's parents moved to Mexico, where he resided until twenty-one years of age, having learned the _maker's trade. At this time Mr. Whitney went to Massachusetts and remained for a number of years, returning to Mexico, where he made his home until twenty-two years ago, when he came to Pulaski to live. Mr. Whitney married Miss Ellen Hubbard of _, who survives. To them were born two children, one dying in infancy, the other, George G. Whitney, _ _ of Pulaski. Mr. Whitney was a member of the M. E. church and of him it could be said, "He was a true Christian." In his home he was a loving, helpful and patient husband and father, always [line unreadable] of others. Besides the widow and son, Mr. Whitney is survived by a brother, Boyd Whitney of this town, and two sisters, Mrs. _. _. P_ also of this town, and Mrs. Anne _ of _. The funeral will be held to-morrow at _ o'clock, Rev. Frederick Maunder officiating. Burial will be made at Pulaski cemetery.
