- HOWARD N. WHITE, RETIRED CARPENTER, DIES

Howard N. White, 80, of 7934 Lake Road, died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, where he had been a patient since Dec. 28.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Summerville Funeral Home, with the Rev. Janet Gibbs, pastor of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Fannie B.; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Sharon) Cordell and Mrs. Al (Joy) Wade, both of Sandy Creek; six sons, Wayne, Norman, Philip and Reginald, all of Sandy Creek, Howard "Doug," Citrus Heights, Calif., and Gary, Richland; 29 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Vogelsang, Camillus, and Mrs. Ruth Miller, Watertown; a half-brother, Bruce Brown, Watertown, and several nieces and nephews.
A son, Jack, died in 1971.
Born in the Town of Boylston on July 29, 1909, son of Adelbert and Ida Prior White, he was educated in area schools and married Fannie B. Stafford on Nov. 29, 1929 at the Lacona Baptist parsonage.
Mr. White was lifelong resident of the Lacona and Sandy Creek areas, and was employed as a carpenter for 35 years by Carpenters Union Local No. 12, Syracuse, retiring in January 1972.
