- ORWELL NATIVE EVA MAE WARD DIES AT AGE 68

Eva Mae Ward, 68, County Route 2, a native of Orwell, died Thursday evening at Community General Hospital, Syracuse.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Randy Gross officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 7385 Park St. Contributions may be made to the Luis Nunez Scholarship Fund at Sandy Creek Central School, Salisbury Street, Sandy Creek, N.Y., 13145, in care of Georgia Gola.
Surviving are four sons, Douglas Henry and Robert M. Ward, both of Orwell, Bud R. Ward, Lacona, and John W. Ward, Lakeland, Fla.; four daughters, Carol A. Banas, Lakeland, Sally L. Nunez, Orwell, Cindy Sue Henry, Altmar, and Candy J. Ward, Richland; 26 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Graham, Orwell, and Donald Graham, Lakeland; two sisters, Dora Archibee and Midge Reynolds, both of Orwell, and nieces and nephews.
A son, Richard H. Ward, died in 1979. A daughter, Vickie Lee Walker, died in 1981.
She was born Aug. 24, 1927, in Orwell, a daughter of Franklin and Mildred Squires Graham. She attended Orwell schools and was a lifelong resident of Orwell.
She married Calvin J. Henry. He died April 8, 1953. A later marriage ended in divorce.
She was a member of the Orwell Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary.
