- Newspaper Obituary - October 25, 1968 Wilkes-Barre Times Leader Evening News - Mrs. Edna S. Davis, Plymouth, Dies - Mrs. Edna S. Davis, 55 Jeanette Street, Plymouth died shortly before noon today in the Mercy Hospital, where she was admitted last night. Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Mary A. Sprake. Her husband, William R. Davis, died in 1941. Mrs. Davis was a member of the First Presbyterian Chuch, Plymouth and the Class In The Corner of the Sunday School of the church. She also belonged to Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 Ladies Auxilliary; Castner Ettes Club of Larksville and was also active in the Plymouth Republican Women's Club. She was employed at the Luzerne County Courthouse for many years, retiring two years ago. Surviving are a son, William R., at home, two grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Maude Gibbon, at home, Mrs. Stella Search, Wilkes-Barre; numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held form the Williams Funeral Home, 114 West Main Street, Plymouth, Monday afternoon at 2, with Rev. Thomas L. Maher, Pilgrim Congregational Church, Plymouth, officiating. Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, West Nanticoke. Friends may call Saturday 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
