- Newspaper Obituary - March 26, 1959 Pulaski Democrat - Rites Sat. For Mrs. Avery Orton - Last rites for Edwina S. Orton, 53, wife of Avery C. Orton, of North St., will be held Saturday at the Foster Funeral Home at 2 p.m. The Rev. W. Russell Clark, pastor of Park Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Pulaski Cemetery. The Auxiliaries of Robert Edwards Post and the Salmon River Barracks will call at the funeral home Friday at 7 p.m. Pulaski Chapter O.E.S. will meet in body at 7:30 p.m. and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mrs. Orton died March 19 at the Osceola Hospital in Kissimmee, Fla., where she was a patient only a week. Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Barbara) Robarge of Central Square; her mother, Mrs. Jennie Skinner Hilton, of Pulaski; three sisters, Mrs. Grace Snyder of Baldwinsville, Mrs. Florence Early and Mrs. Merle Marshall, both of Kissimmee, Fla.; three brothers, Lawrence Skinner of Phoenix, Gordon Skinner of West Brownville, Pa., and Robert Skinner of Oswego,; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Orton was born June 22, 1905 in Camden. She was a daughter of Mrs. Jennie Brown Skinner Hilton and the late Charles Skinner. She attended Pulaski High School and was married to Mr. Orton on Oct. 14, 1920. She was a member of Park Methodist Church and a past matron of Pulaski Chapter, 159, O.E.S. She was also a past president of the Auxiliary of the Robert Edwards Post, 358, American Legion, and a member of the Auxiliary of Salmon River Barracks.
