      Remi O. Brodeur, 77, of 1146 County Route 48, died Wednesday in Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

      Mr. Brodeur was a machinist at Carrier Corp., Syracuse, for 26 years, retiring in 1983.

      Born Oct. 10, 1923, in Cornwall, Ontario, son of Octava and Rose Amyot Brodeur, he was educated in Cornwall and served four years in the Canadian army.

      He married Alice C. Mere on Nov. 22, 1947, at Sacred Heart Church, Massena, with the Rev. Michael Jarecki officiating. They lived in Cornwall until 1959 and then moved to Richland.

      He was a member of the Cornwall Knights of Columbus, a communicant of St. John's Catholic Church, Pulaski, and a volunteer for the Salmon River Hockey Association, Pulaski.

      Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and their husbands, Charlene and Paul Crosby, Richland, and Bonnie and Warren Unger, Jamestown, Pa.; three sons and and their wives, John and Sue, Germantown, Md., Richard and Lynn, Pulaski, and Roger and Cindy, Glens Falls; two sisters, Rena Harper, Denver, Colo., and Aline Brodeur, Cornwall; two brothers, Edgar, Pulaski, and Romeo, Smiths Falls, Ontario, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

      A brother died before him.

      A memorial Mass will be said at noon Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church with the Rev. John F. Hogan officiating. Burial will be private.

      There will be no calling hours.

      Arrangements are with Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek.

      Survivors: His wife of 53 years, the former Alice Mere; two daughters, Charlene Crosby of Richland and Bonnie Unger of Jonestown, Pa.; three sons, John of Germantown, Md., Richard of Pulaski and Roger of Glens Falls; two sisters, Rena Harper of Denver, Colo., and Aline Brodeur of Cornwall, Ontario; two brothers, Edgar of Pulaski and Romeo of Smith Falls, Ontario; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

      Services: Noon Saturday in St. John's Church. Burial, private. No calling hours. Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, has arrangements.
