Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 15, 1999 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - William V. Sweet, Owned Silver Star Market - William V. Sweet, 93, Springbrook Apartments, died Tuesday evening at Oswego Hospital. Mr. Sweet owned and operated Sweet's Silver Star Market from 1939 to 1970 and later worked at Delaney's Super Duper for several years. Born October 26, 1905, in Newark, son of Leander and Ada Sweet, he graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School, Syracuse, and moved to Pulaski in 1939. He married Mary Skotnicki. She died May 29, 1988. He then married Bernadine Manwaring. Mr. Sweet was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church, a member and past master of Pulaski Masonic Lodge 415, a member and past high priest of Pulaski Royal Arch Masons 279 and a member and past president of the Oswego County Scottish Rite. He was also a member of Pulaski Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 259, Fulton Royal and Select Masons 50 and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Syracuse. Surviving besides his wife are two step-sons, Clinton A. Woolson and David Manwaring, both of Pulaski; three step-daughters, Barbara J. Holbrook and Gladys M. Fox, both of Pulaski, and Janet Fullerton, Odenton, Maryland; nine step-grandchildren and several step-great- grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Brett Charnsky officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m.
