Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 5, 1990 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Robert L. Woolson, 55, Army Veteran Dies - Robert L. Woolson, 55, County Route 41, an Army veteran of the Korean War, died Tuesday evening at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Syracuse. He had been ill with cancer. The funeral with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home with the Rev. Ivan Greenfield officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 7643 Jefferson St. Contributions may be made to Northern Oswego County Ambulance of Pulaski. Surviving are three daughters, Debora Tatom, Rochester, Mrs. Stanley (Donna) Thurston, Mexico, and Miss Michelle Woolson, Sandy Creek; four grandchildren; his stepfather, William Sweet, Pulaski; three brothers, Clinton, Pulaski, Rex, Richland, and Walter, Delphi Falls; three sisters, Wilma Currier, Mattydale, and Mrs. John (Barbara) Holbrook and Gladys Fox, both of Pulaski, and several nieces and nephews. His father, Clinton A., died in 1956, and his mother, Mary Woolson Sweet, died in 1988. He was born February 11, 1935, in Syracuse, a son of Clinton A. and Mary Woolson, he attended school at Sandy Creek and served in the Army during the Korean War at the rank of Specialist 5. Mr. Woolson was employed as a carpenter for George Bonney and Hub Homes, both of Pulaski. A marriage had ended in divorce. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7289, Pulaski, and a past member of American Legion Post 358, Pulaski, and the Ringgold Volunteer Fire Department.
