    • Obituary of Richard "Dick" Dana

      Richard “Dick” H. Dana, age 72, resident of Altmar since 1985, formerly of Sandy Pond, passed away Monday at Oswego Hospital. Richard was born August 10, 1946 in Rodman, the son of Harrison and Mildred Roberts Dana. He attended Sandy Creek Schools. Richard was married to Alice Ashmall on November 27, 1977. He was employed by the Albion Town Highway Department for ten years. He was also employed by various logging companies. In the early years he worked for Blount Lumber Co. and Duell Sawmill Co. He was well known for his well-points.

      Dick was the kind of person that would do anything he could for someone. He loved the outdoors and all of the animals in it. His family always came first.

      Surviving are his wife, Alice, children, Richard Dana, Jr. of Altmar, Carmella Dana (Arthur Bell) of Theresa, Kim Marie (Donald) Lyndaker of Wyoming, and Richard (Nikki) Bezio of Alabama, two brothers, Robert Dana of Rhode Island and Gerald Dana of Central Square, two sisters, Janet England of Watertown and Janelle Bettinger of Sandy Pond, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Richard was predeceased by one brother, Gordon who died in 1995.

      Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 27th at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski a spring burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sandy Creek. Calling hours will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday prior to the funeral.
