    • Anne Urevick says "Uncle" John lived on Cottman Avenue with his married daughter, "Mame". His wife's name was Lizzie. He was a retired miner.

      Kevin,
I can't help thinking there is the possibility of an out of wedlock birth involved here. The reason it comes to mind is that it would not be the first Kennedy out of wedlock birth. The family story was John Kennedy brought home a baby and told his mother, Bridget Kennedy, that it was his daughter. Aunt Lizzie Kennedy raised her with John, pretending to be her mother. She eventually married and lived on Cottman Ave in Philly. Her husband was a junk dealer. My father loved him because he would pull toy "tops" out of the trash and save them for the kids. They called her "Mame".
So up in coal country, anything could happen and people pulled together somehow and raised their children.
