- Newspaper Obituary - Monday, June 6, 2005 The Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - Freddie J. Shaw of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Pulaski, died Thursday, June 2, at Broward General Medical Center in Florida. He was born July 13, 1948, in Pulaski, son of Thomas and Helen Shaw, and attended Pulaski Schools. He was a member of the Pulaski Ringgold Fire Dept. and was a former member of Pulaski VFW Post 7289 and the American Legion Post 358. He joined the Marines in 1969 and served in the Vietnam War. He moved to Florida in 1985. He was a forklift operator. He worked at Syracuse Candle Factory, Grandma Brown's Baked Beans in Mexico and also drove a school bus for Mexico School District and drove for Ontario Tire in Sandy Creek. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas M. Shaw Jr.; his mother, Helen F. Shaw; and his brother Claude A. Shaw. Surviving are two sons, Edwin M. Shaw, Georgia, and Dennis M. Shaw, Mexico; three brothers: Thomas M. Shaw III, Pulaski; Merton R. Shaw, Solvay; and Earl E. Shaw, Richland; five sisters: Nancy J. Wood, Syracuse; Linda L. Zayown, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Judy L. Bouchard, Lillington, North Carolina; Kathy D. Shaw, Lorton, Virginia; and Frances M. Fox, Mexico; one granddaughter; and one grandson. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at 11 a.m. from Harter Funeral Home, Mexico, New York, with the Rev. Joseph Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 9 Washington Ave., Mexico, New York.
