    • Newspaper Obituary - July 16, 2008, Princeton Alumni Weekly - Richard C. Deyo '60 - Dick died of cancer Jan. 28, 2008, at his home in Short Hills, N.J. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., Dick came to Princeton from the Pingry School. He majored in art and archaeology and was a member of Key and Seal Club, the Orange Key Guide Service, and the French Club. After graduation, Dick served in the Army and earned an M.B.A. at Harvard Business School. His career encompassed a number of advertising and marketing positions in the New York metropolitan area with Compton and Dancer-Fitzgerald-Sample, American Home Products, CPC International, and Carter-Wallace Inc., from which he retired in 1997 after 22 years of service. An especially devoted member of our class, Dick served as class president from 2000 to 2005. He was also governor-general of the National Society of Colonial Wars, governor of the New York Society of Colonial Wars, and a member of several other historical organizations. Dick chaired the Short Hills Historic Preservation Commission for many years and was an avid collector of Greek and Roman coins. Kathy, Dick's wife of 40 years, and their daughter, Alexandra, survive Dick. The class sends heartfelt condolences to the family.

Deyo (Dick) died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at his home in Short Hills. He was 69. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the William R. Dangler Funeral Home, 309 Springfield Ave., Summit. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, in Westfield. Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Deyo lived in Short Hills for many years. He attended Pingry School and then received his BA from Princeton University, where he was elected class president in 1960. He received his MBA from Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. Mr. Deyo was the governor general of National Society of Colonial Wars; governor of the New York Society of Colonial Wars, and a member of the Holland Society of Colonial Wars, the Saint Nicholas Society of New York, the Sons of the American Revolution and the New Jersey Colonial Wars. He was a trustee of the Huguenot Society of New Paltz, New York, a member of the Foundation of Fort Ticonderoga, New York, chairman of the Historical Preservation Commission in Short Hills for many years and a member of the Canoe Brook Country Club, the University Club in New York City and the Nassau Club in Princeton. Mr. Deyo was the loving husband of Kathy (nee Reilly) and the father of Alexandra.
