- Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, September 3, 1991 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Arnold M. Caufield, 55, Sandy Creek Dies - Arnold M. Caufield, 55, of 7233 Hadley Road, died Saturday at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown. Mr. Caufield had suffered from heart trouble for some time. Services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Summerville Funeral Home with the Rev. Janet Gibbs, pastor of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski. Contributions may be made to the Sandy Creek Volunteer Fire Department or to Northern Oswego County Ambulance, Pulaski. Surviving are his wife, Grace A.; three daughters, Sandra Wilcox, Sandy Creek, Susan Brown, Orwell, and Carol Thomas, Lacona; four sons, Arnold Jr., Wade and Kevin, all of Sandy Creek, and Charles, Palermo; 21 grandchildren; a brother, Fred Caufield, Pulaski; seven sisters, Margaret Dence, Sandy Creek, Patricia Hunt, Chaumont, Anne Eggleston, Caughdenoy, Donna Simoneau, Red Creek, and Verna Caufield, Judy Donahue and Catherine Ridgeway, all of Lacona; several nieces and nephews. Five brothers and two sisters died before him. Born July 7, 1936, in Sandy Creek, son of the late Carroll and Beulah Smith Caufield, he was educated in Sandy Creek schools. A life resident of Sandy Creek, he was employed by the Blount Lumber Company, Lacona, and retired in 1983 due to ill health. He married Grace A. Nutting May 18, 1957, in Boylston Wesleyan Church with the Rev. George Pattington officiating. Mr. Caufield was a retired member of the Sandy Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
