Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 7, 1970 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Man, Long Ill, Expires - Richland - John C. Prins, Jr., 38, of 8625 Wilder Drive, died this morning in the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Syracuse, after a long illness. Arrangements are with the Foster Funeral Home, Pulaski. Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Patricia Prins, are four daughters, Cynthia, 15, Patricia, 13, Candie, 11, and Crystal, 8; a son, Michael, 5, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Prins., Sr., a sister, Mrs. Jana Whaley, and a brother, Leonard T. Prins, all of Richland. Born November 1, 1931 at Gouverneur, a son of John and Mildred Liscumb Prins, he graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School in 1950, before entering the army April 15, 1952. On July 7, 1968, he was medically discharged after serving in Germany, the Philippines and Turkey with the United States Army Security Agency. Since his discharge from the army, Mr. Prins had been active as a 4-H Club leader. He was a member of the Richland Lions Club and of the Pulaski Chapter 415 F. & A.M. for Disabled American Veterans.
