    • Newspaper Obituary - March 14, 1984 Philadelphia Inquirer - Pennsylvania - Robert Stafford Brodhead, 84, a retired insurance-claims examiner and former Swarthmore Democratic committeeman, died yesterday at the Crozer- Chester Medical Center. Mr. Brodhead, who grew up on the Main Line, was a graduate of St. Luke's School and the University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Swarthmore and a life member of the Pennsylvania Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. He served in the Army during World War I and was a member of the Swarthmore Home Guard during World War II. In the years after retiring from the General Accident Fire and Life Insurance Co. of Philadelphia, he was a Democratic committeeman, a lay reader in the Episcopal church and a volunteer for the Travelers' Aid Society. Survivors: wife, Alice; a daughter, Dr. Virginia Brodhead Clemmer; and three grandchildren. Services: A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Swarthmore. Private burial services at Old St. David's Church, Wayne.
