    • Lawrence was born in Herkimer County, NY. At some point (between 1865 and 1870) he and his family moved to Oneida County, NY. Lawrence entered the service (US Army), 121st Reg. in 1862. He was a Private and served 6 mos., mustering out due to his health being permanently impaired (without wounds). Also in 1862 his son James (from Eliza) was killed and son David (from wife, Martha) born. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetary (was still living at the time of the 1880 census. Exact date of death still unknown). On his gravestone is "Co. H 121 N.Y.S.V. (no dates)". Lawrence was married three times and had six children. He was a farmer.
