Osman B. Roser, 80, of 1421 County Route 30, Ricard, town of Orwell, died Thursday at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Roser was a life resident of the town of Orwell. He and his wife, Rose, owned and operated a dairy farm. He also was employed by the town of Orwell Highway Department, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of Altmar American Legion and, for more than 45 years, a member of Ricard Grange 993.
Born May 20, 1917, in the town of Orwell, a son of Asa and Edna Kellogg Roser, he was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1946.
He married Rose M. Countryman on July 29, 1947, in the town of Pamelia. She died July 29, 1996.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Juley) Weisenburger and Linda Roser, and two sons, Larry and David, all of Altmar, and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, Edwin, John and Wilfred, and a sister, Isabelle Dwyer, died before him.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Tim Hurne, pastor of Pine Meadows Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

A life resident of Ricard, he owned and operated a dairy farm and was formerly employed with the town of Orwell Highway Department until his retirement in 1983.
