- Newspaper Obituary - January 7, 1954 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Mrs. Roy Pickett Is Dead at 36 - The funeral of Mrs. Mildred Look Pickett, 36, was held December 28 in the Sandy Creek Wesleyan church, with the Rev. Arland Rees, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. H. H. Hutt, pastor of Watertown Free Methodist church. Burial was in Richland cemetery. Mrs. Pickett, who was the wife of Roy A. Pickett of Ellisburg, died suddenly Saturday morning, December 26, 1953 after being stricken with a coronary occlusion. She leaves her husband and five children, Beulah, 16; Robert, 15; Ronald, 13; Beryl 11 and David 9; her father, Jerry Look, Orwell; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Mabel) Patterson, Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. Norman (Dorothy) Hudson, Phoenix, and a brother, Milford J. Look of Richland, who is with the army in Germany. Mrs. Pickett was born May 21, 1917, in the town of Orwell daughter of Jerry Look and the late Beulah Carpenter Look. She was graduated from Sandy Creek High school and later attended business school in Watertown. On October 15, 1937, she was married to Mr. Pickett in the Free Methodist church parsonage in Watertown. The couple lived in Watertown until moving to Ellisburg in June of 1950. Mr. Pickett is employed by the United Milk Products Corporation, Pierrepont Manor. Mrs. Pickett was a member of the Watertown Free Methodist church.
