Newton, petty officer in the U. S. navy, stationed at New London, Conn., Rev. Charles Bollinger officiating. They were attended by Mrs. Dorothy Mather, sister of the groom as maid of honor, and Arlene Kinsman, Mary Madill, Norene Cunningham and Emily Milesky as bridesmaids. Mary Taylor of North Syracuse, was the flower girl. Earl Nrierly was the best man, and Hubert and Lawrence Cunningham, brothers of the bride, and Lester Robinson were ushers.

Burial Fairdale Rural Cemetery, Hannibal. Calling hours 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 837 Cayuga St.

      Online Obituary - Almeda M. Newton - SCRIBA, N.Y. -- Almeda M. Newton, 79, of Scriba, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Foster Funeral Home in Hannibal, N.Y. Burial will follow at Fairdale Rural Cemetery in Hannibal. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal. Mrs. Newton was a life member of VFW Post #569 Auxiliary, Fulton, and the American Legion in Georgia. She was predeceased by a daughter, Donna, in 1951. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank Newton Sr.; five daughters, Patricia (Dolph) Skaggs and JoAnn (John) Green, both of Tifton, Priscilla (Richard) Ferrera and Kathleen (Roland) Waugh, both of Hannibal, and Carleen (Donald Sr.) Waugh of Scriba; four sons, Fred (Helen) Newton of Whitney Point, N.Y., Wayne (Bonnie) Newton of Hannibal, Frank Newton Jr. of Hornell, N.Y., and Raymond (Rhonda) of Oswego, N.Y.; 31 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Foster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
