    • Newspaper Article - Monday October 29, 1934 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Mexico, October 29 - The marriage of Miss Zerita Bloodgood, daughter of Mrs. Lois Bloodgood, and Forest Meeks, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Meeks, took place at the parsonage of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, the Rev. B. L. Waters officiating, Saturday evening at 7 o'clock. The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mercer of Redfield. A wedding supper was served at the home of the bride's mother, immediately following the ceremony. Miss Bloodgood was a member of the graduating class of Mexico High School, 1933. Mr. and Mrs. Meeks will make their home in Redfield where Mr. Meeks has employment.

    • Newspaper Article - Thursday July 28, 1960 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Donna Meeks Bride Of R. Donovan - Miss Donna Marie Meeks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest E. Meeks, Ames Street, Mexico, and Richard E. Donovan, son of Mrs. Blanche Donovan of 11 Varick Street, Oswego were united in marriage at 2 p.m. July 16, in St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Mexico. The church was attractive with bouquets of white carnations. Rev. James P. Slowgo, pastor of the church performed the double ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor length gown of nylon taffeta and ruffled tulle. It was styled with an embroidered close fitting bodice with scalloped Sabrina neckline and short shirred cap sleeves, with fitted mitts. The bouffant skirt was finished with a large double bustle bow at the back. Her veil was attached to a crown of sequins and pearls. She carried a white orchid on a white Missal. Mrs. Norene Avery was her sister's matron of honor with another sister Sherry Meeks as junior bridesmaid. Mrs. Avery was dressed in powder blue taffeta with darker blue in the back bow and sash ending in a harem skirt. She wore a blue crown with short veil. Miss Meeks wore street length blue nylon with three tiered skirt, and a small blue crown. Both carried colonial bouquet of pink sweetheart roses. Patrick de Ambra Jr., Oswego, was best man with Roger Wells and James Scacia as ushers. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Meeks chose a coral nylon dress with white accessories. Mrs. Donovan was dressed in beige linen with which she wore white accessories. Both ladies wore white sweetheart roses in corsage. A reception for 200 guests was held at Beck's Hotel. After a wedding trio to Canada the young couple are making their home at 105 Roney Lane, Syracuse. The bride is a graduate of Mexico Academy and Central School and is presently employed as a typist at Western Electric in Syracuse. Mr. Donovan, who graduated from Oswego High School and attended Alfred State Technical Institution, is a salesman for the American Furniture Company.
