    • EDWARD D. BENNETT

      Edward David Bennett, widely known as a contractor and bridge builder, died October 27, 1930 at his home in Pulaski. He was born Jan. 3, 1852, in Richland, son of David Bennett and Rosetta Comstock Bennett.

      During his active life as a builder, Mr. Bennett was connected with John Mattison, also of Pulaski. He was in charge of the construction of docks at Santo Diego, Cuba, railroad bridges at Malone and in the Adirondacks, paper mills in Carthage and Dexter and featured prominently in laying out the railroad around the first dam between Altmar and Redfield. He retired 15 years ago to make his home in Pulaski.

      Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife and two sons, Minot Bennett of Norwood, superintendent of the Norwood-Waddington railroad, and Attorney Harry Bennett of Watertown.

      The funeral service was held at the home at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, Rev. Albert E. Lawrence officiating. Burial in Pulaski cemetery.
