Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, April 27, 1961 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Fernwood Native Taken by Death - Mrs. Sarah Jane Reynolds, 93, widow of John E. Reynolds, died late Wednesday night at the Evergreen Nursing Home where she had been a patient two years. She had been in ill health three years prior to entering the nursing home, at the home of her daughter, Mrs_ Clarence Peters. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Fernwood Methodist Church preceded by prayer at the Taylor Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. John Thorness, pastor officiated with interment in South Richland Cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Sadie) Peters of Pulaski, Mrs. William (May) Jackson of Mexico and Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Murray of Fernwood; nine grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and a niece, Mrs. Orrin Balcom of Redfield. Mrs. Reynolds was born June 1, 1867 the daughter of David and Sarah Farmer Grant. She was married June 29, 1892 at Wessington Springs, South Dakota to John Egerton Reynolds, whose death occurred March 17, 1932. They came to the Fernwood area to reside in 1908. Mrs. Reynolds was the oldest member of the Fernwood Church at the time of her death. She was also a member of the W.S.C.S. and W.C.T.U., and a 50-year member of South Richland Grange.
