    • Newspaper Obituary - Friday, January 4, 1974 Observer Dispatch - Utica, New York - Carl Stevens - Hamilton - Carl Stevens 78 of 94 Utica St., died Thursday in his home after a long illness. He was born in Mexico, N Y. He had been employed by Swift & Co. Utica, retiring in 1960. He also operated a farm in Pecksford. He lived in the Hamilton-Waterville area most of his life. He married Hazel Voodre In 1914. She died in l961. He married Elizabeth Johnson in 1964. She died in 1973. Mr. Stevens was a Methodist and a member of the Pine Woods Church. He leaves a son, Grover, Utica; two brothers, George, Englewood, Fla.; Harold, Utica; two sisters, Mrs. Fanny (unreadable) Sherburne; Mrs. Marie Hayden, Englewood, Fla.; a stepson, William Johnson, Herkimer. The funeral will be held Saturday from the (Harry Northrop Jr. Funeral Home, WaterVille, with burial in Waterville Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight.
