EAST SPRINGFIELD, NY -- Edward A. Barker, 80, died Tuesday, October 31, 1996 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Albany. Mr. Barker was born in Orwell, NY. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Silver Star and two Purple Hearts. He worked for the Nestle Corp. in Fulton for 30 years and was active in Union affairs. After retiring from Nestle's, he ran an antique business with his wife, Helen M. Barker, in East Springfield. He was a member of the VFW Post in Fulton, NY. Besides his wife, Mr. Barker is survived by two sons, E. Glenn Barker of Altamont and Donald L. Barker of East Springfield; three sisters, Marion Keyes of Laurinburg, NC, Mabel Potter of Richland, NY and Bess Hilton of Pulaski, NY; two grandsons, Ned and Dan Barker, both of Altamont. Relatives and friends may call at the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St., Altamont, on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. A service of committal will be held at a later date.
