    • Newspaper Article - March 3, 1892 Sandy Creek News - Johnson-Upton - At the home of the bride in Richland, N.Y., February 4, 1892, By Rev. James Erwin of Syracuse, Miss Ella V. Upton, daughter of Levi Upton, and Mr. H Johnson of Syracuse.

Newspaper Article - Thursday, March 3, 1892 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Richland - A very pleasant and pretty wedding occurred at the residence of Mr. Levi Upton, in Richland, on the occasion of the marriage of their daughter, Ella V., and Mr. H. Johnson, of Syracuse, New York, February 24, 1892. The parlors were beautifully decorated with evergreens and cream roses. The bride was tastefully attired in cream white. A large number of relatives and friends were in attendance. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Johnson, of Wolcott, brother and sister of the groom; Miss Hattie Johnson, Mr. D. W. Stewart and family, James G. Stewart and family, Mr. H. J. Stewart and wife and Master Joel, Mrs. M. Connell, Mr. E. Upton and wife, E. Wyman and wife, Mrs. Fred Richards and little Willie, Kate Lynch, Miss Ella Stewart. Also friends of the bride from Watertown and Utica were present. Rev. James Erwin, pastor of the M. E. church, of Syracuse, perform the ceremony. Mr. Charles B. Upton acted as best man, and Miss Ella Stewart as bridesmaid. Messrs. Albert Wright and D. Moore acted as ushers. The company were seated to a well spread table and served to a sumptuous repast. The bride was the recipient of many and valuable presents. Miss Upton's home has been in Utica for the past ten years, where she has won for herself many warm friends. She is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Stewart, of this village. The Utica young people regret very much to lose the lady above named from their society. Mr. Johnson is an earnest Christian worker, and a popular young man of the city of Syracuse, which will be Mr. and Mrs. Johnson's future home. We wish them many happy years in their new home.
