    • Newspaper Obituary - November 6, 1952 Pulaski Democrat - Last rites for Burton O. Spencer, 76, lifelong farmer of the Town of Albion, were held from the Dugway Methodist church, Wednesday. Preceded by a prayer service at the home. Interment was made in the Dugway cemetery. Mr. Spencer's death occurred while at the wheel of his automobile while driving on Rt. 11 near Maple View, Saturday afternoon. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mamie Chapman Spencer; one daughter, Mrs. Earl Sperling of Syracuse; one son, Erwin Spencer, Pulaski, R.D.; one brother, William Sheeley, Auburn. Mr. Spencer was born June 10, 1876 in the Town of Albion, the son of Wesley and Lavina Spencer and had always been a farmer in that section. He was a member of the Dugway Methodist church, the Albion Center grange, president of the Dugway Cemetery Association and a Republican.

      Newspaper Obituary - Monday, November 3, 1952 Syracuse Herald Journal - Syracuse, New York - B. O. Spencer To Be Buried Wednesday - Pulaski - Funeral services for Burton Ora Spencer, 76, who died of a coronary thrombosis while driving his car on Route 11 one mile north of Mapleview Saturday afternoon, will be conducted on Wednesday. A prayer service will be held at the home at 1:30 P.M., followed by services at the Dugway Methodist Church at 2 P.M. with the Reverend Rich, former pastor assisted by the Reverend Dobbie officiating. Interment will be in Dugway Cemetery. Mr. Spencer was born in Albion on June 10, 1876, the son of Wesley and Lavinia Spencer. His life was spent in that vicinity and he was employed as a farmer. He was a member of the Dugway Methodist Church, Albion Center Grange, Dugway Cemetery official and a Republican committeeman from that part of the county. Surviving him are his wife, the former Mamie Chapman; a daughter, Earl Sperling, Syracuse; and a son, Erwin Spencer, Pulaski; a brother, William Sheeley, Auburn; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
