EDNA MAE WILCOX NORTHLAND ELECTRIC RETIREE

Edna Mae Wilcox, 70, of 9251 Ellisburg St., died Monday at Oswego Hospital, where she had been a patient since April 12.

Mrs. Wilcox worked at General Electric Co., Syracuse, and retired from Northland Electric, Watertown, in 1991.

Born July 16, 1928, in Camden, daughter of Ray and Lillian Green Sweatland, she graduated from Pulaski High School.

She married Charles F. Wilcox on May 27, 1948, in Pulaski. They lived in Sandy Creek all their married lives. Mr. Wilcox died May 31, 1970.

Mrs. Wilcox was a former member of the Sandy Creek Fire Department Auxiliary.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Deborah) Killam, Sandy Creek; a son, Tracy, Pulaski; a brother, Robert Sweatland, Pulaski; eight grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A sister, Katherine Bailey, and a brother, Ray Sweatland Jr., died before her.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Summerville Funeral Home with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ray Sweatland, Richland, Dies

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Taylor Funeral Home for Ray Sweatland, 60, who died at his home in Richland after an illness of about six months. Rev. Wesley Baker, pastor of the Richland Methodist Church and Rev. James N. Pauley, of the Pulaski Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Westdale Cemetery.

Mr. Sweatland was born April 1, 1894, the son of Charles and Mary Sweet Sweatland in Camden. He spent his early life there and was educated in the Camden schools. In 1917 he was married, to Miss Lillian Green in Westdale. He and his wife came to Pulaski to live 24 years ago and the past three
years they had lived in Richland.

Mr. Sweatland was employed by the New York Central Railroad for 40 years as maintenance foreman. A veteran of the first World War, he was a member of the Richland Methodist Church and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Maintenance Employees.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. David Bailey of Pulaski and Mrs. Charles Wilcox of Sandy Creek; two sons, Ray of Watertown and Robert of Richland; two brothers, Ernest of Williamstown and Ivan of Camden; and five grandchildren

Lillian M. Sweatland, 72, of Richland dies April 29, at the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital, Watertown, where she was a patient for five days.

Born October 15, 1899, the daughter of Asa and Anna Osborn Green in Williamstown, Mrs. Sweatland attended Camden High school and was married to Ray A. Sweatland in 1917 at Westdale. Mr. Sweatland was employed for many years by the New York Central Railroad as a maintenance foreman. They resided in Westdale, Pulaski, and Richland. He died July 24, 1954.

Survivors include two sons, Ray Sweatland Jr., Central Square, Robert L., Richland; two daughters, Mrs. David (Catherine) Bailey, Pulaski, Mrs. Charles (Edna) Wilcox, Sandy Creek, eight grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
