    Bruce A. Nutting, age 69, resident of Altmar for the past 20 years, formerly of Sandy Creek, passed away Tuesday at his home. Bruce was born November 1, 1952, in Richland, the son of Arthur and Florence May King Nutting. He attended Pulaski Schools. Bruce was married to JoAnn VanBuren on September 18, 1982. He was employed by Gaffney’s Lawn Care for 15 years and also the Town of Richland, Hinderwadles and Atkinson Farm Supplies.

    Surviving are his wife, JoAnn, three daughters, Starr (Shawn) Lacelle of Altmar, Wendy (Tim) Shaw of Naples, FL, and Christina (Bryant) Cronk of Altmar, four sisters, Grace Caufield, Betty Nutting, and Darlene Denny all of Sandy Creek and Barbara Lethonen of Central Square, several grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Scott Hilton in January.

    Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23rd at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Richland Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from noon to 1p.m. prior to the service.

    Florence M. Nutting, 86, formerly of Richland, died Monday at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown.

    Mrs. Nutting was a homemaker and had lived in the Richland-Pulaski area most of her life.

    Born Oct. 28, 1919, in Daysville, daughter of Philip E. and Martha Walker King, she married Arthur O. Nutting on May 7, 1938, at Pulaski. He died April 4, 1971.

    Mrs. Nutting enjoyed gardening.

    Among her survivors are seven daughters, Grace Caufield, Mary Jane Nutting and Betty Nutting, all of Sandy Creek, Joan McNitt, Pulaski, Joyce Widrick, Adams, Barbara Lehtonen, Mexico, and Darlene Denny, Redfield; three sons, William "Jake" and Ronald, both of Richland, and Bruce, Altmar; 41 grandchildren, 101 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

    Two daughters, Beverly A. McNitt and Linda M. Vann, and a son, John, died before her.

    The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. G. Thomas Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.

    Calling hours will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

King, 81, died Monday at the Cheney nursing home near Sandy Creek, where he had been a patient for the past five months. He was born in the town of Richland, April 8, 1871, son of George and Doris Hornbusher King and had been a farmer in the vicinity of Daysville all of his life. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Florence Nutting, Pulaski, and Mrs. Doris Besaw, Adams; two sons, Samuel, Pulaski and Julius C. King, Madison.     Newspaper Obituary - Sandy Creek News April 21, 1932 - Mrs. Avery Otis - Mrs. Elizabeth Otis, 70, wife of Avery Brown Otis of Sandy Creek, died Tuesday morning April 19, 1932, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Stewart, Richland. She had been taken to the Stewart home following an operation in Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, last September. She failed to recover fully from the effects of the operation. Mrs. Otis was born in the town of Ellisburg October 4, 1861, daughter of John H. and Nancy Goodenough Ellis. She was married to Avery Otis, August 25, 1878 and their entire life has been spent in the vicinity of Sandy Creek and Ellisburg with the exception of six years in the west. For many years she and her husband conducted a farm between Sandy Creek and Mannsville. Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Stewart, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Seward Nutting, Sandy Creek, and four sons, Byron J. of Ellisburg, George H. of Pierrepont Manor, Earl H. of Pulaski and R. Ellis of Ellisburg. She also leaves 24 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Cora Howard of Sandy Creek. Ancestors of Mrs. Ellis were the founders of Ellisburg and the town and village were named in honor of the Ellis family. Private prayer services were held at the Stewart home Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and funeral services in Richland Church of Christ at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Culp of Syracuse officiating. Burial was in Ellisburg.

    Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 25, 1906 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Daysville - Died at her home in this place, April 22nd, 1906, Doris Hornbostel, wife of George King, after a brief but painful illness. Mrs. King was born in Germany in 1843 and came to this country when twenty-four years of age and has since lived in this vicinity where she has many friends, who regretted her death. Her husband who is in very feeble health survives her, also four children, Julius and Philip King, Mrs. Dennis Monroe and Mrs. George Chawgo. One sister, Mrs. S. Ferguson, resides here and a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Mowers, in Utica, there is also a brother in Indiana and one in Canada. The funeral will be held from the home on Tuesday. Therefore be it resolved, that in the death of our sister the family has lost a kind and loving wife and mother and Daysville Grange a worthy and exemplary member. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to them in their hour of affliction.
