    Newspaper Article - Wednesday, July 22, 1896 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Albion Cross Roads - Mrs. L. Butterworth gave her daughter, Ruby, a surprise party the 9th, which was enjoyed by all and Ruby was especially pleased with her nice presents. She will remember the 15th anniversary of her birthday.

    Newspaper Article - August 8, 1900 Pulaski Democrat - On Thursday morning as Samuel (Lawrence) Butterworth, a farmer living about three miles east of this village, was hitching a team to his mowing machine, the horses became frightened and ran away. The machine passed over Mr. Butterworth's body and he was dragged some distance, injuring the spine and causing paralysis of both legs. He was not discovered until about one o'clock, when Putnam Smith happened to passing the Butterworth farm and found him in a semi-conscious condition. Doctor Frank A. Box, of this village, who was summoned, says that Mr. Butterworth is in a critical condition. The chances for his recovery are doubtful.

    Newspaper Obituary - August 15, 1900 Pulaski Democrat - Died at his home Saturday evening, August 11, Lawrence Butterworth, aged 47 years and 8 months. A little over a week ago while hitching on his mowing machine his horses became frightened and ran over him with the machine injuring his spine and caused paralysis of his limbs. He was a great sufferer until his death came to his relief and all was done that could be done by loving hearts and willing hands for his comfort. He is survived by an aged father, a loving wife, two sons and three daughters, Frank Butterworth, Smartville, Fred Butterworth, of this place, Mrs. Ova Clark, Miss Ruby Butterworth, Pulaski, and Eva who lives at home, were all at his bed side when he died. He was a kind neighbor, a kind husband and an indulgent father and will be greatly missed in the family circle. His chair will be vacant, father is gone.

    Fuller-Died at the home of her son-in-law, Frank L. Porter, Syracuse, Dec. 10th, Mrs. Clarissa Fuller, aged 91 years. She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Jennie Smith of Syracuse and Mrs. Harry Scranton of Fernwood, and one son, Frank Fuller of Utica. There are ten surviving grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held at her late home on Friday, the remains brought to Fulton for interment in Mt. Adnah. Mrs. Fuller was born in a little log cabin at Gilberts Mills, March 3 1828 the daughter of Mr and Mrs Enos Pratt, pioneer settlers of Oswego county. Mrs. Fuller moved to Fulton in her early girlhood, where she married and resided here for forty years. She went to Syracuse to live about five years ago. Mrs. Fuller had been active and was one of the early Christmas shoppers. More than a week ago, accompanied by her granddaughter, Miss Leontine Porter, she visited several
    stores and purchased her numerous Christmas gifts. A couple of days after her shopping expedition she fell, fracturing one wrist and suffering several severe bruises. Her death is thought to have been hastened by the accident.

  1. 8.  Hezekiah Thomas Butterworth was born on 25 Jan 1798 in Warren, Rhode Island (son of Benjamin Butterworth and Polly Unknown); died on 9 Jul 1881 in Pulaski, Oswego County, NY.

    Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 28, 1881 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - Butterworth - In Albion, July 9th, 1881, Hezekiah Butterworth, aged 83 years and 6 months. Mr. Butterworth was born in Warren, Rhode Island, and in his youth married Miss Betsy Peckham. Long years they have toiled and endured each other's sorrows and enjoyed each other's joys. Fifty- six years had he been a resident of Albion. His health was generally good, and few were more active at his age. On the 4th of July morning he cut some grass by hand and did some hoeing in the garden. He then went into the house and complained of not feeling well. All was done for him that kind and loving hands and hearts could do, but he continued to grow worse. His children were summoned to his bed side. He lingered along through the week until Saturday, when he heard the summons "Come up higher." The companion of his youth still survives him, also three sons and two daughters. He has only one brother who lives to hear of his decease. He lives in their native state, Rhode Island. Mr. Butterworth was one of Albion's oldest inhabitants, and as a neighbor, husband, and father, will be much missed by the people of his neighborhood, and by his wife and children. His funeral was attended from his late residence, Rev. P. A. Burdick officiating. His remains were interred in the Lehigh Cemetery.

    Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 14, 1881 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - Butterworth - In Albion, July 9th, 1881, Hezekiah Butterworth, aged 83 years and 6 months. The deceased was one of the oldest residents of the town and a most exemplary citizen.

    Newspaper Obituary - May 17, 1883 Pulaski Democrat - Albion - Mrs. Betsey Butterworth, widow of Hezekiah Butterworth, after a very severe sickness of a few days died May 7th, 1883, in the 88th year of her age, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Lydia Smith in Lacona. Deceased was born in Rehoboth, Mass., Oct 16, 1795, was married October 1818, came to this State, April 1821, with their three oldest children, arrived at Ellisburgh Jefferson county and staid there on year. They moved to Albion, Oswego county, in 1825, where they bought a piece of land and settled a mile in the woods, no road to it except by marked trees. They built a log house moved in without a door or floor except a few boards on a small part of it. They put up a few boards at the doorway at night and put a large chest against them to keep out the bears and other wild animals (which were quite plenty in those days) while they slept. Their hardships were very severe for several years but with fortitude, perseverance and economy they suceeded in paying for and clearing up their farm, built a good fram house and had a family of six children, four sons and two daughters, five of whome are still living, to adorn their home, share in their labors and cheer them through life's rugged pathway. Since Mr. B's death she has lived with her children. She had been a member of the Pulaski Baptist church about fifty years and was highly esteemed as a Chrisitan and neighbor. The friends were severly shocked at the bereavement but bow with submission to the will of Him who doeth all things well. Her funeral was attended on the 9th inst. at her daughter's. Sermon preached by Rev. L. Muzzy.
